From the Pre-K orientation, our goal is to work together with parents to prepare their child for kindergarten – not only academically but socially. We all want the same goal, for their child to graduate with a love of learning and an understanding of altruistic values

Director’s Message

“The best kept secret in Knoxville.” Oh, how many times I’ve heard those words as the Director of The Children’s Center of Knoxville! And, for some, I guess that is true. Nestled in the woods bordering the Third Creek Greenway is Knoxville’s finest childcare program.

For the last 17 years, I have been honored to be a part of the 35-year history of the Children’s Center of Knoxville, serving thousands of children from all walks of life. We represent the real world, or maybe the world as it should be, under one big red roof, serving children and families in a diverse environment with tolerance, acceptance and love. I am most honored to be the coach of one of the most superior teams in the state of Tennessee – a select group of individuals who are committed to the care and education of young children. Over 80% of the staff have been at CCK over five years and five of our staff have been awarded the distinction of being Knox County’s Childcare Provider of the Year.

Not only are they committed to the children and families of CCK, they are community advocates in their spare time. Just this fall, one of our teachers hiked 28 miles to bring awareness to childhood cancer, just by being moved by having two young cancer survivors in his classroom. To say that I am proud to be a part of this program is an understatement. I invite each of you to learn the “secret” by scheduling a tour to see why so many in Knoxville call us “family.”
